Lunches: 4.10.15

It's Friday!  The Girl had opening night of her play last night (she is playing a mermaid in Peter Pan, Jr.), and it was a lot of fun.  Second and closing night tonight - it's a lot of work for two shows - and she is still fighting a cold (good timing, eh?), so I'm packing lunches up with yumminess to help her feel good and healthy.
Salad and dressing: 5g, chicken: 12g, apple slices: 12g
For this Friday's lunch, The Boy has some leftover chicken drumellas (little white meat chicken nuggets shaped like drumsticks), with a little package of ketchup tucked in with them, along with apple slices, and a salad with shaved cheese, heirloom cherry tomatoes, and sunflower seeds, with a side of ranch dressing.  His snack is a granola bar (not pictured, 22g).

Lunches (and Dinner): 4.7.15

The Girl is in a play this week (she's playing a Mermaid in Peter Pan, Jr.), and she has rehearsal until 7 PM tonight and Wednesday night.  She also had rehearsal last night, and I brought her some dinner, then was informed (by her) that I should just pack her an extra Easylunchbox with dinner in it.  I can do that.

I'll take The Girl's meals first.  Her lunch is a salad with rainbow cherry tomatoes, honey goat cheese, sunflower seeds, a hard boiled egg, and some vinaigrette in a separate container.  She also has half a sandwich with hummus and turkey, and grapes.

Her dinner is some Italian chicken sausage, steamed carrots (leftover from Easter), a granola bar, apple slices, and some crackers.

Lunches: 4.6.15

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter!

We spent time at my mom's house with my sisters and their families, and also at The Hubby's family's house.  I did not do any cooking or baking this year (but I did get a leftover hunk of ham with a bone!  I'll get to using that soon!), and we ate all of the hard boiled eggs (it's amazing how many hard boiled eggs 12 people can eat!), so I actually boiled some more eggs at home for us to have in lunches - and The Hubby is hoping for Hard Boiled Egg Masala.
Salad: 5g, plantain chips: 7g, hard boiled egg: 0g, ranch dressing: 4g
For today's lunch, The Boy has a salad with yellow cherry tomatoes, turkey, a hard boiled egg, and plantain chips.  He has some dressing in a separate container.  He has crackers and hummus for snack (not pictured, 24g).

Happy Friday!  Spring is finally here (for the moment - there's snow expected for Easter.  Because, of course there is).

The kids played outside in their shirtsleeves for about two hours last afternoon.  I drank a cup of coffee in the afternoon sun.  It was glorious.  I'm hoping for more of the same soon!

For lunch, The Boy has a sandwich with hummus, lettuce, and turkey, along with yellow tomato slices (separated from the sandwich with a silicone baran) to put on the sandwich.  He also has plantain chips and apple slices.  His snack is some crackers with pepperoni (not pictured, 12g).

Lunches: 4.1.15 - April Fool's!

In past year's, I have had some fun with April Fool's Day.  I couldn't let the day pass without some sort of fun.
"moldy" apples: 16g, blueberries: 5g, sandwich balls: 50g, egg: 1g

For lunch, The Boy has blueberries, some apples balled out with a melon baller and rolled in the leftover green colored graham cracker crumbs from The Girl's birthday (a few of them have caramel on them, too, until I realized that the crumbs stuck without the caramel - much easier, and healthier, too!), along with a square egg (boiled and shaped in an egg mold), and three sandwich balls.  Two of them have jelly inside, and one has a meatball.  For snack, he has a granola bar (not pictured, 22g).

The Girl has blueberries, apple balls rolled in green graham crackers, fish (shaped) egg, and sandwich balls (again - one meatball, two jelly).

The Boy has in his bed last night giggling over a list he was making for April Fool's pranks.. here's hoping nothing is too crazy.
