Lunches: Halloween 2016

Happy Halloween! 

We had our Halloween party this past weekend,  and I'll try to get it blogged soon... suffice to say,  there was a lot of food.
Just a little Halloween food.

Lunches for today make use of leftover herbed bone bread.
Bone bread sandwiches: 40g, strawberries: 5g, apple slices: 8

The Boy has bone bread with hummus and turkey, along with strawberries and apple slices. His snack is a granola bar (not pictured, 24g).


The Girl has bone bread with hummus and turkey,  jack-o-lantern clementines,  and apple slices.

Lunches: 10.28.16

Happy Friday!

I made a fresh loaf of King Arthur's Bake-along for the month, Everyday Whole Wheat bread.  I have gotten lazy and haven't been making bread for the past few months, and I want to get back to it.  It's super easy (dough in my bread machine), and the family loves it.  Thank you, KAF, for the reminder.

Lunches: 10.25.16

I had Monday off, so I decided it was high time I made some bread!  It's been too long... and I need to get back at it!  The timing was perfect, too, because King Arthur Flour is having a Bakealong challenge, for their Everyday Whole-Grain Bread.  Wonderful.

So, the kids have homemade bread in their lunches!

The kids don't have school tomorrow (parent-teacher conferences), so today is their Friday!

I am battling a head cold (I blame jet lag for wearing my down), so The Girl helped make lunches today.

I found adorable baby bananas at Trader Joe's... who can resist baby fruit?

I packed lunches on Friday and then totally forgot to blog... Jet Lag from 6 hours time difference is no fun.  I think it is almost over now... but I am now fighting a cold.  Really?  No Thank You.

So, for this Monday, the kids have pretty simple lunches.

Lunches: 10.13.16

I'm finally back from Sweden!  (Big blog post to come!)

I should have been back on Tuesday evening, but we had a delay and missed a connection, and we were stuck in DC overnight... that was a bummer.  The kids took care of packing their own lunches yesterday, with nary a blog in sight.

Today, it's back to normal!

I brought some delicious little number shaped cookies home from Sweden, so they are in the lunches.

Packing lunches ahead for a week away, in Easylunchboxes!



Prepped for a week!

I am going to Sweden for a week with my mother, and The Hubby is going to be home with the kids. I wanted to make it easier for them while I am gone, and for The Boy's school nurse (so that I can have the carbs for his lunches blogged - easy peasy!)

I set out all of the Easyluncheboxes that I needed, and set to packing!  I made the sandwiches ahead of time, and after I took pictures, I popped them in some foil and labeled them with a sharpie and put them in the freezer.

I put post-its on each box with the day it is for, and what needs to be put into the box before it goes to school.  The apple slices in the pictures are from Monday's lunches - The Hubby will cut up fresh apples for them when needed.  The grapes should be fine in the lunches that are packed, and if the pretzels and Inner Peas get soggy in the fridge, there are fresh ones that can replace the ones in the packed lunches.  The kids seem to think they will be ok.

I hope that everything goes well while I am gone - and when I return, I will have some things to blog from Sweden!
