It was too hot to hike, so we decided instead to have an adventure. We took a road trip to
The Wild Center in Tupper Lake, NY! It was a 3 hour drive each way, but it was a beautiful route, through the
High Peaks Region of the Adirondacks, and the Wild Center itself will certainly be remembered by the kids.
They had river otters. And baby skunks. And all sorts of turtles. And a kestrel hawk. Did I mention the river otters? They were impossible to get a good picture of, but they were adorable.
And of course, we brought lunch, in our
Easy LunchBoxes!
|
The Boy's lunch - ham & salami sandwich, sunchips, some NatureBox tomato crunchers (almonds), a couple apple slices, a cheese stick, and a fortune cookie. |
The cafe area was really neat. The windows were at water level of the river and we could look right out at fish swimming right outside!

The Boy's fortune from his cookie!! |

The Girl's lunch - same as The Boy's, pretty much. |
