Family Lunches: 8.30.13 (With Hotdog Tacos!)

It's the first Friday of the school year!
Bagel sandwich: 28g, melon: 5g, cucumber: 2g, feta: 1g, bbq corn kernels, cinnamon cookies: 2g

The Boy has a banana for snack (not pictured, 28g).  His lunch is in a Yumbox, and he has melon, cucumber, feta cheese, Naturebox BBQ Kettle Kernels, a mini whole wheat bagel with pesto, lettuce from my CSA, liverwurst, and Monterey Jack cheese, and some cinnamon crackers.

For dinner on Thursday night, I made up something I called Hotdog Tacos - the filling was sliced hot dogs, corn, and white beans, with some taco seasoning.  We all loved them!

The Girl asked for leftovers in her lunch, so she has a couple Hotdog Tacos, a pluot, strawberries, a string cheese, and some cinnamon crackers, packed in an Easylunchbox.  Do you like her Mexican dog?  For snack, she has a Chobani Champions yogurt and a banana (not pictured).


I have a salad with feta cheese, some salsa in an Easylunchboxes Mini Dipper, crumbled up taco shells so I can make my salad a taco salad, and a pluot, in my Easylunchbox.

Lunches for an Outing: Wheeler Mountain - 6.15.13

Our first hike of the season!!


The Boy has been begging to do Wheeler Mountain since last year... It is a 2 hour drive from our house, so it isn't an easy one to get to.


But I think we may all have a new favorite mountain!  It's a relatively short hike and so pretty... challenging at times, and all of us came down with holes in our pants - though this was caused by foolishly sliding down granite slabs on the way down.  Poor planning, but it was fun.


We had several friends along with us, and I made all the lunches.


Everyone had some Asian snack mix, fruit (The Girl got strawberries, but everyone else had cantaloupe), a sandwich, and either BBQ Corn crunch snacks from Naturebox or Guacamole bites from Naturebox.


For my vegetarian friend, I put leftover grilled curry veggies in his sandwich instead of ham.
A stack of hike-ready lunches!


I also brought along some Astronaut ice cream that I had as a treat.


The lunches were delicious mountain-top.


None of us can wait for our next adventure - and the accompanying lunch!

Kid Lunches: 5.23.13

Daddy and I are getting lunch at work today.

Wrap: 22g, strawberries: 5g, melon: 5g, feta: 1g. wafer: 1g
The Boy has applesauce for snack (not pictured, 15g).  His lunch is a wrap with hummus and turkey, along with strawberries, melon, feta, and lemon meringue wafer, in his Yumbox.


The Girl has applesauce for snack (not pictured).  Her lunch is a wrap with hummus and turkey, strawberries, melon, raisins, and lemon meringue wafers.

Family Lunches: 5.22.13

We acrll have the same lunches today - Daddy and I have crackers, ham, cheese, strawberries, melon, and Naturebox Lemon Meringue Wafers.
Crackers: 12g, cheese & ham: 1g, melon: 5g, strawberries: 5g, wafer:1g

The Boy has an applesauce for snack (not pictured, 15g), and the same lunch as Daddy and me, packed in a Yumbox.

The Girl has an applesauce for snack (not pictured), and the same lunch as the rest of us.

It's that kind of day - an assembly line lunch kind of day.  :)

Friday!

Daddy's lunch is a wrap with salad, ham, and hummus, along with blueberry yogurt pretzels, orange slices, and honeydew melon.

I have a wrap with salad, ham, and hummus, Naturebox almonds, half an orange, and apple slices.

Wrap: 25g, dried apples: 12g, pretzels: 20g, melon: 5g
The Boy has a banana for snack (not pictured: 32g).  His lunch is a wrap with hummus, salad, and ham, along with honeydew melon, Naturebox dried apples, and blueberry yogurt pretzels.


The Girl has a banana for snack (not pictured).  Her lunch is a wrap with hummus, salad, and ham, with orange slices, apple slices, and blueberry yogurt pretzels.

Family Lunches: 5.6.13

Happy Monday!

Flooring got done, in case anyone was wondering.  And it's fabulous.  The flooring was definitely with me.

Now, for lunches.

I have a wrap with hummus and turkey, along with some Naturebox Banana bread granola, pomegranate craisins, orange slices, and baby carrots.

The Boy has Chobani Champions for snack (not pictured, 9g).
Wrap: 25g, granola: 16g, raisins: 8g, carrots: 1g. melon: 5g

His lunch is the same as mine, except he has melon instead of orange slices and raisins instead of craisins.


The Girl has Chobani Champipns for snack, and the same lunch that I have.

Blog Hop: May the Fourth Be With You Star Wars Lunch for The Girl

We are Star Wars fans in my house.  I am pleased to participate in the May the Fourth Blog Hop - one of two from the Bento Blogger and Friends this year.

The Girl has a camp out tonight for Girl Scouts, and is first participating in Green Up Day, a wonderful Vermont tradition of getting out on the first Saturday in May every year and cleaning up litter.  So, she needs a lunch on this gorgeous Saturday.

She has the last of the cinnamon swirl bread that she made, along with some Naturebox Banana Bread Granola, a Darth Vader full of pomegranate craisins, a light saber, some apple slices, and orange slices.

This lunch is not as cool as I would have liked, but I have an excuse...

I have flooring on my mind.  Redoing the flooring in our dining area.  Right now, it's a hideous brown shag.  I cannot wait until we have it redone.  So, I'm a bit distracted from the lunch packing.

At least I have Vader.

And I'll have Star Wars on in the background whilst I work.

Family Lunches: 5.3.13

Another all-in-one post for family lunches.  Happy Friday!


I have some of The Girl's homemade bread - this time with cinnamon swirl!  (It's delicious) I also have some Naturebox Taj Mahal snack mix, Naturebox Blueberry Flax granola, orange slices, and baby carrots.

The Boy has Chobani Champions for snack (not pictured, 9g)

Cinnamon Swirl bread: 25g, raisins: 16g, granola: 15g, apple slices: 8g. carrots: 1g

For lunch, he has some cinnamon swirl bread, raisins, Naturebox Blueberry Flax granola, apple slices, and baby carrots

Family Lunches: 5.2.13

I have leftover Chinese food for lunch (no picture, but it's lovely).


The Hubby has salad with sliced steak, strawberries, and orange slices.


The Girl has Chobani Champions yogurt for snack (not pictured), and the same lunch as Daddy with some ranch dressing.
Salad and Steak: 1g, babybell: 1g, apple ring: 4g, pretzels: 12g, strawberries: 5g, carrots: 2g
The Boy has Chobani Champions yogurt for snack (not pictured: 9g)  His lunch is some salad, steak in a rose shape, a babybell, carrots, strawberries, Naturebox Dried Granny Smith Ring, and Naturebox Italian Pretzel Bites.  There is ranch dressing in a little container under the apple.

She *loved* her leftover curry chicken and couscous wrap on Wednesday, so she has another one for Thursday.  She also has some Naturebox Sunshine chips, a clementine, dried kiwi, and some baby carrots with hummus.

His lunch is some leftover pasta, a small piece of garlic bread, spinach and baby carrots, an apple, and some Naturebox sunshine chips.
