I'll contact you and get your information. Congratulations, and I hope that you enjoy them as much as we do!  Anyone who did not win, do check them out if you get a chance.  They are delicious... and I discovered that they make totally delicious croutons!

Lunch: 5.24.11

The Girl has a field trip today, and they said to pack a hearty lunch as the kids won't have time for a snack, and also something to drink.

She has a ham sandwich on pain de mie, a string cheese, apple slices, somersault snacks (don't miss the giveaway!), along with homemade Greek yogurt with maple syrup stirred in, and a banana.  To drink, she has a bottle of water with Mio in it.  (Mango Peach).  I like Mio occasionally.  It gets her to drink more water... I wish it didn't have anything artificial in it, but for the amount I use in her water, I'm ok with it.

I packed her lunch in the cooler bag from EasyLunchboxes - and did you know, you can now get EasyLunchboxes on Amazon?  Super cool.  I used the cooler bag because she's got a larger lunch today, and I wanted her water bottle to fit.

Review & Giveaway: Somersault Snacks

I'm always on the lookout for fun new snacks, and when Somersault Snacks offered to send me a sampler box to try out, I jumped at the chance.

These are great snacks - sunflower seed based, nut free, and nutritious.  They are full of protein, low on fat, and high on flavor.  One serving has 15g of carbs, which is ideal for a snack for The Boy, who has Type 1 diabetes.

They come in four flavors - Pacific Sea Salt, Dutch Cocoa, Salty Pepper, and Santa Fe Salsa.

Meet my friend, Jamie.  As she likes to put it, she is "allergic to life."  Guess what she's not allergic to?  Somersault snacks!  I brought in samples for her to try, and she's a big fan.

The kids love them, too.  The Boy said "It's delicious!  And full of seeds!"  The seeds amused him.  The Girl gobbled them up.  I really love them, too.  They are little nuggets of yum.

Of the four flavors, my favorite (and Jamie's, too) is the Santa Fe Salsa.  It isn't overly spicy, just really delicious.  The Pacific Sea Salt is also really good, as is the Salty Pepper.  The Dutch Cocoa.. not sure how I feel about that one, yet.  It's not sweet, really, just seemingly dusted in cocoa.  Interesting, for sure, but not my favorite.

Here's the really cool part - Somersault Snacks has offered to send out a sampler box to one of my lucky readers!  All you have to do is "like" them on Facebook, and leave a comment here telling me which flavor you most want to try.  (They require the FB part for the giveaway) I will pick a winner around 6 PM, Thursday May 26th, using random.org.

As always, I need a way to contact you.  Anonymous commenters, with no contact information, cannot win.  If I can't contact you, I can't get your information to Somersault Snacks, and you can't get your prize.  Simple as that.

One comment per person, please.  Winner must get back to me within 48 hours, or I reserve the right to pick a new winner.

Disclaimer:  I received a sample pack to review, but have been in no way compensated for this giveaway or by talking about Somersault Snacks.  All opinions are my own.  The prize is donated by Somersault Snacks.
