King Arthur Flour Blog & Bake 2012 - Part 4!

I was very lucky to be invited to this year's King Arthur Flour Blog & Bake (See Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3)   It was totally fantastic and I learned so much that I want to share with you!

After our very informative and fun classes on Monday, we had a wonderful opportunity to meet Mary Ann Esposito from Ciao Italia!  Her show is the longest running cooking show on television, and she filmed an episode with us, right at the Baking Education Center of King Arthur Flour.

It was pretty amazing.  If I can remember to look for it ten months from now, when it airs, I'll let you know when it is going to be on.
Winnie from Healthy Green Kitchen takes a picture, while Julie from Mommie Cooks waits her turn
She demonstrated how to make a three course meal. We couldn't take pictures during filming, of course, but afterward. we got our chance to take pictures of each dish.

Sweet Potato Gnocchi with shaved cheese and a browned butter sauce... oh my... we didn't get to taste it yet...

For each course, one lucky blogger got to cook with her and speak on camera... I got to help roll a little gnocchi, but I wasn't one of the featured bloggers, alas...

The second course was a chicken with wine sauce.  Oh my... we were all getting very hungry at this point.

For dessert, she put together a chiffon cake with lime curd.  I can't wait to try something similar myself!

Before we went to dinner, we had to wait for Mary Ann and crew to set the final scene, and then we each received  a cookbook, which Mary Ann graciously signed!

Then came the best part.... we went to the Norwich Inn, where the chefs had prepared dinner for us from Mary Ann's menu.  Fantastic.

It was all incredible, and we also got to hang out with some of the people from King Arthur Flour during dinner, too.
At the end of dinner, we found out we'd been sitting with King Arthur Flour's CEO!  I love Vermont...

It was an unforgettable day, and we had a full day of learning to look forward to the next day... stay tuned for that in Part 5!

  1. I have been hesitating to read these because I knew I would be insanely jealous. Then I realized my curiosity and complete adoration for you could overcome my jealousy. This is way cool, Astrid! Next year, I join you.....

  2. I hope that they invite you next year, Heidi! Allison at KAF said that they don't tend to invite the same bloggers more than once (this is only the second year, though...) but if you are in Vermont, you are totally coming up to hang with me for at least an extra day... ;) You would have loved it!
