We bought a teriyaki marinade, though it would have been simple enough to make it ourselves. It was really hot and humid, so the less time in the kitchen, the better (thus, the microwave rice as well).
She coated the salmon and the chicken with the teriyaki marinade, and she decided to put some slices into the chicken breast before marinating, so that the flavor could permeate the whole thing. She also made grilled zucchini, yellow squash, and baby red potatoes, which she decided to spice up with a little smoked paprika, garlic powder, and salt. She cut all the veggies by herself with a sharp paring knife (though I was there for supervision).
