Recipe: Venison Sausage Lasagna Skillet

Of course you could make this with regular Italian sausage.  I just happened to have some venison sausage in the freezer that was a gift from one of The Hubby's friends.  Mmmmmm.

I needed a super quick dinner, so I went rummaging in the fridge and pantry and came up with this.  What a winner!  Of course, regular lasagna is yummier, but this took less than half an hour to make.  That's a win in my book!

Venison Sausage Lasagna Skillet

1/2 lb venison sausage (or sweet Italian sausage)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dehydrated onion (you could use real onion)
1 tsp dried basil
1 c spaghetti sauce
1 c ricotta cheese (I used fat free)
1/4 c parmesan cheese
1/4 c shredded mozzarella cheese
8 lasagna noodles (I used whole wheat), broken into small pieces and cooked

Brown sausage in a large skillet.  If there is a lot of excess fat, drain it off with a paper towel.

Stir in spices and spaghetti sauce.

Mix in cheeses and noodles.  Cover and let cook for about 5 minutes for flavors to combine.  Serve and enjoy!
