Recipe: Pizza Rings

Quick dinner (using store bought whole wheat pizza crust - of course you could make your own), and a different take from plain pizza.  The kids loved it!  More a technique than a recipe, but I thought I'd share it anyhow.

Pizza Rings

Pizza dough (I used whole wheat store bought)
Pizza sauce (a few tablespoons for the pizza, more for dipping)
Your favorite pizza toppings, chopped small (we used cheese in one, and cheese and mini pepperonis in the other)

Roll the pizza dough out into a rectangle.  Coat with a thin layer of pizza sauce, and then your toppings.

Roll up like a jelly roll, and seal into a ring.

Slice around the ring about every 3 inches, partially though the wreath.

Cover with a towel and allow to rise for about 30 minutes.  Preheat oven to 400.  Bake for about 30-35 minutes, and serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.  (My kids also like ranch)

  2. I'll be showing the kids this one in the morning! On busy nights we tend to make our own pizzas and this could be a fun way to change it up! Thanks for yet another great idea!
